EAAE/ARCC 2016

According to the EAAE/ARCC International Conferences principles, the 10th edition / Lisbon2016, having as theme “Architectural Research Addressing Societal Challenges”, aims to be attended by architects, professors, researchers and students from all over the world, for what the FAUL strong and many links (including more than 120 international academic protocols, coordination of Tempo / Erasmus Mundus – Trans-European Mobility Project on Education for Sustainable Development and the coordination of the Academy of Architecture and Urbanism Schools from Portuguese Language Countries) with the international architectural education and research communities, will certainly add value and what will be reinforced by the invited, reported and specialized, keynote speakers.

We also stress that Lisbon is a wonderful city, currently appointed as one of the top 5 most attractive cities in the world, with an ebullient life (June is the month of popular festivities), nice and diverse surroundings (beaches and more). It has a strong history that embraces our present and future, namely regarding architecture. Along with the historical city and monuments, contemporary buildings by Aires Mateus, João Luís Carrilho da Graça, Álvaro Siza Vieira, Eduardo Souto Moura, Tomás Taveira, Santiago Calatrava, Charles Correa, Vittorio Gregotti, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Peter Chermayeff, among others, can be found. As a partner of the EAAE/ARCC Lisbon 2016, Lisbon Architecture Triennale, an association whose mission is to research, foster and promote architectural thinking and practice, – awarded with the Status of Cultural Interest by the Ministry of Culture – will help participants to discover Lisbon’s architecture. In 2016 they will hold their 4th edition.

The 10th EAAE/ARCC International Conference will be held in the period from 15-18 June 2016.
